  • Early Reading Instruction

Our role in early literacy instruction is to teach basic skills and to provide rich, meaningful, and engaging learning environments supported by appropriate teaching practices.

Each child comes to the session with different literacy experiences and abilities, and we need to consider each child's needs and provide structured programs with explicit instruction and meaningful reading and writing tasks.

To best support a new student, a student is assessed, and individual reading lessons are tailored to meet the student’s current reading level.

We use a Structured Literacy program which includes systematic and explicit reading instruction. Direct and indirect instruction of phonics, word families, and long and short vowel sounds are utilized to augment the comprehensive reading instruction.

  • English Language Arts Tutoring

English language arts education incorporates the teaching and learning of reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing. Integration of language arts occurs in multiple ways. Instruction and assessment reflect the integration of listening, speaking, viewing, reading, and writing. The language arts are not perceived as individual content areas but as one unified subject in which each of the five areas supports the others and enhances thinking and learning.

English Language Arts instruction includes reading comprehension, reading strategies, literary analysis, sentence-composing skills, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation practice.

Students are presented with a variety of exercises to target an increase in reading and writing skills while simultaneously improving their experience in the classroom.

  • College Essay Writing Instruction

The goal of your child’s college essay is for it to be so compelling that admissions officers remember your student even after they’ve gone through hundreds, if not thousands, of applications. Colleges want to see your child — his/her personality, drive, and what makes your student the best choice for the school.

Revive Tutoring understands the need for exceptional and outstanding quality essays which reflect the personality and goals of the student. We prioritize spending time to understand the individual student’s values and and his/her dreams and expectations of the college essay.

Students receive instruction in the form of targeted graphic organizers, excellent sample student essays, and top-notch instruction which encourages your child's ideas to shine through the writing.

  • Advanced Placement Tutoring

Advanced Placement English and history classes help students go beyond the basic school courses to delve into the specifics of language and history.

Our Advanced Placement tutoring services follow the AP units and cover all the topics while systematically preparing students to study for the AP test.

Students are provided with direct instruction of the various essay formats with video links to help study for each unit. Sample essays, former AP tests and questions are curated for each unit and provided as supplementary material so that your student can excel in the classroom and beyond.

We understand the importance of your child's AP courses and the value colleges place on students who receive high scores on the test.

“Rachna has been working with all three of my middle and high school kids for over two years. They have tremendously benefited from her tutoring. Coordinating with our school, she created custom lessons and goals complementing their overall growth. Their grades improved but more importantly, their confidence in writing thrived. She is a gem.”
